Volunteering at the Library

Download a volunteer application

Volunteers provide a unique and vital role in the delivery of library services in our community. By volunteering at the library you can make a difference while using and developing your skills and abilities in any one of the following areas:

Homebound Services

If you have a few free hours each month, you may be interested in volunteering for the Homebound Service. New volunteers are always needed. Delivering library materials to those who are unable to visit the library because of age or health considerations can be very rewarding.

To find out more, please contact Patti Walton at 705-673-1155, extension 4768.

Local History

Assist in preserving materials of historic value to the community.

Please contact Kristen Bertrand at 705-673-1155, extension 4780 for volunteer opportunities in our Local History department.

VolunTeen Program

The Greater Sudbury Public Library is piloting the VolunTeen Program in an effort to connect with youth in the community, and to provide an opportunity for youth to connect with other members of their own community through technological assistance (that the library does not currently provide to its patrons). The VolunTeen Program will also strive to provide much needed volunteer opportunities for students in Grades 9-12 currently attending any high school in the City of Greater Sudbury who need to fulfill their Community Service Hours requirement before graduation.

Workshops

Do you have a hobby?

The Greater Sudbury Public Library is looking for individuals who would like to share their hobbies by presenting a workshop at the branch of their choice. Please contact Suzanne Leclair at 705-673-1155, extension 4765 if you are interested in this volunteer opportunity.
