GSPL, in partnership with the Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society, is proud to announce a new concert date to the summer concert series line up. This concert will be specifically for teens and will feature five youth bands. The GSPL Teen Battle of the Bands will take place on the last Wednesday in August at Anderson Farm in Lively. The Teen Battle of the Bands is being introduced as part of the very popular free ‘Rock The Farm' Concert/Farmers’ Market Summer Series hosted by the Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society.

These concerts all take place on the lawn outside the barn on the Historic site of the Anderson Farm. Every Wednesday evening during the months of July & August the farm comes alive with the sound of local musicians. Concerts are free to the public and open to all. The Teen Battle of the Bands will now be a feature of this summer line up. GSPL is now inviting teen bands to submit their application to be a part of this exciting musical evening. Band applicants must be in between the ages of 13 and17 and live in the Sudbury area. There will be five bands selected by a juried panel to perform on the evening of Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Selected bands will be invited to perform two songs each during the course of the evening. One band will be chosen as the overall grand prize winner. All submissions are welcome though applying does not guarantee a spot at the Teen Battle of the Bands.

Band submissions should include a picture, a short biography, a sample of music and the completed application form. Samples can be submitted as a CD, MP3, or link to a YouTube video.

Send email applications to GSPL’s Child and Teen Programmer, Pierre Dubuc. Applications will also be accepted at any Greater Sudbury Public Library branch. Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 3, 2013.
