Greater Sudbury Historical Database

The Greater Sudbury Historical Database is a unique tool for local history information. It offers low-resolution photographs and an index to our local newspapers (Le Voyageur, Northern Life and The Sudbury Star).

Please note the date, page number and newspaper of the articles you wish to view and bring this information to the Main Library to view, print or save. Printing is available for 25 cents per page (8.5" x 11" only), while viewing and saving is free-of-charge. If you wish to save, please bring a USB drive with you.

Pictures may be used and printed for personal use BUT are subject to copyright laws. Please give credit to the Greater Sudbury Public Library and the name of the collection that the photo comes from; this information is indicated in the record in the Greater Sudbury Historical Database. If you would like to use photos from the database for business or promotional use, you must inquire at the Main Library .

If you would like a high-resolution paper copy, please inquire at the Main Library (prints are available for $2 per image). If you prefer a high-resolution photograph, please allow 10 business days (photos are available for: $12+hst for 5"x7" or smaller and $16+hst for 8" x 10" or larger).
