GSPL is working on a new format for this year's Battle that will get everyone up and moving, as well as include some patriotic give-aways. There's more to come on this new and interactive format in the weeks to come. So stay tuned!
There is still time to register your school for the Final Battle. Please send the registration form to Monique Roy to guarantee your spot on May 9th. You can email the form to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax it to 705-673-6145.
The Battle of the Books program is a valuable and enjoyable way to generate enthusiasm for books and reading among students and promote literacy in schools.
This program was created to stimulate the enjoyment of recreational reading in Grades 4, 5 and 6 by encouraging students to read more widely in authors they already enjoy and to discover new authors.
The 2016 Battle marked the 13th anniversary of this program and it was a huge success. Preparations for the 2017 Battle have begun.
The Greater Sudbury Public Library would like to thank Chapters and Librairie du Centre for their generous sponsorship of the 2014 Battle of the Books and for their continued support over last 13 years. We would also like to thank Xcaliber Trophies for generously providing the medals and trophies awarded during Battle of the Books.
