Pile of batteriesHousehold Battery Collection

Are you having a difficult time finding out where you can take used batteries to be safely disposed? Then you will find a solution at your Greater Sudbury Public Library.

The Greater Sudbury Public Library strives to be socially and environmentally responsible. We have taken a step forward to limit our impact on the natural environment by initiating a battery collection program at the following library branches:

You can drop off any of your alkaline household batteries and button batteries at your public library. Just place them in the labelled red bin.

What kinds of batteries are being accepted?

  • Alkaline Batteries are standard household batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, and 9 volt). They are typically used in products ranging from cameras and clocks to smoke detectors and remote controls.
  • Button Batteries are named for being small round and silver-coloured. They are most commonly found in watches and hearing aids.
