Computer, internet, and Wi-Fi access
Computer and Internet Use
- Computers are available for public use at all 13 locations, free-of-charge.

You must have a valid Greater Sudbury Public Library card to use any of our computers, except our catalogue stations.
- If you do not have a GSPL card but are a resident of Greater Sudbury, please obtain one at any location of the library.

If you are a visitor to Greater Sudbury, please bring a piece of identification to obtain a one-time or temporary card that will allow you access to our public computer stations.
- One-time cards are valid for a one-hour session on the day you obtain the card. You may only login once, even if you do not use all of your allotted time.
- Temporary cards may be obtained by visitors for up to 14 days. These cards allow two hours daily of computer usage.
- Black & white and colour printing is available for 15 cents per page.
- Please read the Computer Use Guidelines before reserving a computer.
- If the commercial filter is blocking access to a website on a Greater Sudbury Public Library computer that you feel should be allowed, let us know using the Website Access Request form. Your request will be reviewed and access allowed if appropriate.
Book a Computer
- You may book a computer up to 3 days in advance or drop in to any location to use a computer.
Wi-Fi
- Greater Sudbury Public Library provides free wireless Internet access at all 13 locations
- You may access the wireless network anywhere in the library by using your own portable computer or device that has either built-in Wi-Fi or an installed adapter card. Library staff are not expected to help visitors configure their devices, due to the wide selection of devices available.
- To access the wireless network, view available wireless networks from your device and select "Public_Guest" from the list.
- There are no passwords required to access the Wi-Fi.
- You may plug your devices in to empty electrical outlets found throughout the library, but not into our network.
- Please be aware that public Wi-Fi networks are not secure. Use this service at your own discretion.
- Also note that the wireless network is NOT filtered.
- At this time, you are not able to print directly to GSPL printers. Please save your files to portable storage device and use a public workstation to print.
